Donor FAQ

Should I donate monthly or one time?

One-time donations are excellent to support a particular campaign we are working on at the moment, or if you are new to Bikemore. Recurring donations help sustain us in the long run, contributing to all of our programming, advocacy, and educational efforts. For as little as $5 a month, recurring donors make sure that Bikemore is able to do what we do better, and for longer.

Where does my donation go?

Your donations go directly towards maintaining Bikemore by supporting our events, programming, and advocacy efforts. Your direct action donation can go anywhere in our organization, from lobbying officials to running our Mobile Bike Shop. Charitable donations are limited to supporting our educational, organizing and programming efforts. To learn more, check out this helpful graphic to differentiate between direct action donations versus charitable donations.

Can I donate on behalf of someone?

Yes, you can make a contribution in honor or in memory of someone. When you make a donation, you will be able to select this option. You can also choose to alert the person that you’ve made a gift in their honor!

Can I donate through a third party?

We accept donations through Facebook, Instagram, and Amazon Smiles! Some folks also choose to donate through their employer. Ask your employer if they have matching programs or a way to donate pre-tax. Contact us if you or your company is interested in setting up donations with Bikemore.

Is my gift tax deductible?

It depends! Direct-action donations are not tax deductible but support everything in Bikemore. Charitable donations, while limited to our educational and programming, may be tax deductible depending on the amount you have donated to Bikemore and other charitable donations. See here for more information. For those who usually take the standard deduction while filing taxes, we strongly encourage you to donate to our direct action fund.

Is there bikemore merchandise?

Yes! Find our shirts here. A percentage of the proceeds goes to Bikemore, so it’s a great alternative way to make a donation.

How can I get more involved?

We’d love to have you help out! Our volunteers have helped out with food distribution and running events like Cranksgiving and Friday Night Lights. Stay up to date with our latest projects here and become a volunteer here.
